Dr. Mansfield explains how he diagnoses a patient with sleep apnea.

Dr. Mansfield:
Sleep apnea is diagnosed in two ways – first, a thorough and careful history looking for the types of things that I described. Second, looking at the comorbidities of sleep apnea – diabetes, high blood pressure etcetera. And then lastly an analysis of sleep, and the analysis of sleep can be done in the home, in what we call a home diagnostic study, or it can be done in the laboratory where a lab will test you with a one-night sleep.
