Dr. McLucas explains if uterine fibroids affect a woman's sex life.

Dr. McLucas:
It’s never going to be better with fibroids. The uterus is normally the size of my fist, and the bottom of that fist is the cervix which is pushed with the penis during intercourse. And if you’re pushing a large structure that’s going to be pushing against other organs in the pelvic cavity, it’s going to be really hard to relax. One of my patients said it’s like porcupine sex. The closer you get to having a good time, the more it starts to hurt, and you just stop wanting to have sex. So yes, it’s unlikely that women are going to have a better sex life with fibroids.
