By February 9, 2026 - 1:03am

Lace frontal wigs often face issues like lifting, shedding, and tangling that shorten their lifespan. Addressing these promptly keeps the lace frontal wig looking natural and wearable.

Lace Lifting
Lifting happens from poor prep or wrong adhesive; flatten hair with cornrows and a thin cap first. Apply thin glue layers, let them dry tacky, and press firmly with a melt band for 24 hours.

Shedding and Tangling
Excess pulling or harsh brushing causes shedding; detangle gently from ends with a wide-tooth comb and lightweight oil. Wash biweekly in cool water with wig shampoo, air-drying on a stand to avoid matting.

Puckering or Stretching
Overstretched lace puckers from heat or improper storage; smooth with rolling lotion like It Stays, then press flat. Cut lace 1.5 inches from the hairline before install to prevent lines.

Dullness and Damage
Heat tools dull strands; use protectant spray sparingly and limit to 350°F. Store in a silk bag away from the sun to retain shine and prevent breakage.
