Are all-weather tires a good one-set option for Edmonton drivers?

By July 19, 2026 - 4:11pm

For some drivers, one set can make sense, but it depends on the kind of winter driving they do. My neighbor uses one set because he mostly stays on main roads and does not drive much during storms. I looked into all-weather tires when I got tired of booking seasonal changes every year. They seemed practical because they are designed for mixed conditions, unlike normal all-season tires that can struggle in colder weather. Still, I would not choose them blindly. If someone drives highways, early mornings, hills, or poorly cleared roads, dedicated winter tires may still feel safer. For city driving and moderate use, all-weather tires can be a reasonable middle option, especially when storage space is limited.
