Q:

Pregnant or Anxious?

My period ended, then the next day something happened. Took Plan B about 35-40 hours later. However, I am a little above the 175 pound fact I've heard about. I didn't have any specific symptoms until five days later. I'm not sure if this is bleeding or spotting, but I had super light bleeding (a mix of dark brown and bright red) for two to three days. Didn't require a pad, just appeared when I wiped myself. Along with that at the same time, I had acne appear on places my face that normally happen. Cramps started kicking in more so a week ago. However, I've been nauseous since the bleeding incident.

My period was supposed to arrive yesterday (I follow the 28 day cycle), but it hasn't arrived. Today the same bleeding occurred, but it was bright red. Still nauseous and cramping Should I be worried? Or am I reacting like this from anxiety risen from this situation?

Hello Anon

Thank you for writing.

There is very little chance you are pregnant based on the reliability of emergency contraception - some manufacturer's have revised their view about weight restrictions.

EC can change the menstrual cycle but take a pregnancy test to know where you stand. One would be accurate by now.
Best,
Susan
