My period is 3 days late when normally its pretty on time and never ever longer than a 28 day cycle. My period is always 7 days. I was on the pill for six months and then came off. In my first month off my period came after 24 second month after 26 and now in my third its over 28 days. Ive had no pms symptoms apart from that sad icky uncomfortable in your own body feeling i normally get before. But i havent had pms since i came off the pill. Ive had some nausea and cramps and gas and headaches and slightly more frequent urination and athirst. But its been cold and i suffer with acid problems. Sex was protected with a correctly used condom at all times. Could it be pregnancy or is this sudden dryness and lateness an indicator that my period is on its way?

Hello Anon

Thank you for writing.

Signs and symptoms among women who have PMS or pregnancy differ so we can't say what one should expect. If you have been having protected sex then pregnancy should not be an issue. Your cycle is likely finding regularity again after coming off the pill - this is not uncommon. A pregnancy test can confirm this for you.
Best,
Susan
