Hi there, My name is Rachel and a few weeks ago I was with my ex boyfriend and i was touching his privates which was fully erect and there was pre-cum/ ejaculate around the tip which I noticed about a few minutes after. I was fully clothed, I had leggings and a panty liner on. he did not touch my vagina but he was touching my leg and my upper area, but as i said I was fully clothed. about more than 10-15 minutes later i washed my hands in the toilet. I cant remember if i washed them properly, then used sanitiser, but worried if i got anything like pre-cum inside of me any time later. Was I at any risk of getting pregnant?. I am on the birth control pills called Ridevidon and did not miss any but i am also on medication. I am meant to take my next pack of pills this friday and I am expecting a bleed this week but it hasn't come, assuming my period or "bleed" is late which I am feeling really paranoid about. Is there any need to spend money to take a pregnancy test?

Hello Anon

Thank you for writing.

Did you have sex ed at school? If not, it's a good idea to study on your own so you know how sex and the human body works. You can read books on this or search our own site. This will eliminate a lot of stress than the unknown can cause.
A woman cannot get pregnant unless she has unprotected sex (naked) with ejaculation. She would also have to be ovulating. Sperm will not travel through a layer of clothing to impregnate, even if there is full ejaculation.

Pre-ejaculate itself does not contain any sperm. Sperm may be inside the urethra if a man ejaculated recently and did not urinate since. If he urinated since he last ejaculated, there is no sperm at all. Pregnancy is very uncommon from pre-ejaculate and the urethra would have to contain sperm at the same time. A woman would also have to be ovulating and engage in unprotected intercourse with ejaculation.

You haven't missed your period yet, it should be along this week. If not, just keep taking your pills as usual. You can't be pregnant.
