Is it safe for me to have sex with my boyfriend in the week that I stop my birth control for my period?? Am I still protected from pregnancy or do I have to start taking them again for another week or so to be protected?

Hello Anon

Thank you for writing!

You need to read the instructions and information that come with your pill - you need to know why and how you are taking birth control so you know what to do if you miss a pill or want to have sex at any given time. You are fully protected during your 7 inactive days when you bleed. The pill stops ovulation so you cannot get pregnant from sex at any time during the 28 days cycle.
Best,
Susan
