Hi Anonymous,
November 1, 2010 - 1:19pmCongrats on your husband coming back! How exciting for both of you. Thanks for your question, and for finding EmpowHER.
OK...let's take this step-by-step. I would suggest you advocate for yourself first by taking a pregnancy test to see if you are pregnant. If it comes out negative, then you may want to call your doctor and discuss different birth control options that may be more permanent since you are not planning on having more children. Depending on your age and true intent to not have children in the future, a different method may be right for you since it's becoming harder to remember to take your pill. It is possible your menstrual cycle has changed, and even if you take the pill back-to-back in successive months like that, as my doctor told me, "the blood has to come out sometime, and backing up the packs doesn't always work how you plan it to," as you found out.
Hope that helps. Let us know if you need more information about other forms of birth control, etc.
Good luck, and let us know how you are doing.

Hi, I had my baby girl back in January of this year. I started birth control around april and I had never missed a pill up until September which I bleed for like two weeks. I spoke with a nurse due to the fact I was bleeding and was suppose to have started my period around the end of Septemember. I stopped bleeding about two days before when my actual period was suppose to begin, but I never started back. I haven't missed any pills since and it's November and I never have had a period. I have taken home pregnancy test and a test at my clinic that have all came back negative. I know that my doctor suggested just waiting to see if I start, but I don't feel like I'm going to. Sure I have weird feelings along my abdomine and back, but not normal period cramps. Could I still be messed up from where I missed those pills in September or could it be something else? Could I possibly be pregnant even though test have came back negative? I just would like a answer because I don't like to continue taking bc if I was to be pregnant.

Hi Anonymous,
November 1, 2010 - 1:06pmIf you have continued to take the pill aside from missing that one time, then there is no chance of you being pregnant. A negative pregnancy test generally means you are not pregnant. Those are designed to be very sensitive to hCG hormone you produce when pregnant. Was the test at the clinic a urine test, or a blood test? There are many things that could make you "skip" a period. If your doctor has said to employ "watchful waiting" for your period, then you can do that. Usually, if you miss three periods in a row, the doctor wants to see what could be prohibiting you from getting a period.
Good luck and let us know how you are doing.

It was a urine test. I didnt think there was any way I could be pregnant considering all the negative results I had recieved. Thanks for your response.

Hi CeiraLawson10,
November 1, 2010 - 1:47pmYou're welcome. If you get other symptoms such as excessive cramping, intense headache and/or abdominal pain, etc., call your doctor's office for further instruction.
Take care~

Hi, It's me once again. My body is confusing me. I told you last night that I had started cramping some, I thought it was menstrol cramps, but when I woke up this morning I felt really sick to my stumach as if I was going to throw up. I couldn't lay on my stumach or anything or else I thought I'd get sick. Ive done this afew times throughout the past few weeks. What causes that?

Hi CieraLawson10,
November 2, 2010 - 11:13amBesides for gastrointestinal illness, hormone fluctuations can also make us feel nausea. I'm not a doctor, so I can't diagnose you. To be safe, do you want to call your doctor to run these new symptoms past them, it may not be a bad idea.
Let us know how you are doing.

Hi Anonymous,
There is a chance of pregnancy everytime you have sex. Sperm lives in the body for up to 5 days so that should give you an idea regarding your ovlulation time. There is certainly a chance.
Hope this helps.
