We used protection and everything and I dont think any could have came out. I think I've started spotting yesterday yet it hasn't stopped. I've never started this early or spotted before. Hi Anonymous,
What most likely is happening is called breakthrough bleeding. Great job on using a backup method. That will always save you if you forget to take your pills. Still be diligent about taking your pills. Relax.
Here are some articles that will explain it in more detail:

Hi again!
Thank you so much for answering me! I've become alot less worried, because I think it must just be my period quite early, since the bleeding has not stopped... but can that happen when you miss a few days of your pill?

Yes, when you miss a few birth control pills, you can experience your "withdrawal" bleeding earlier-than-expected.

Hi Anonymous,
Thanks for your question, and for finding EmpowHER. Since you normally are on birth control and made up the pills, you probably will be OK (not pregnant). You can use a back up method this week just to be sure, and it's good you used a condom that time you mentioned. I would try not to worry, and just be extra diligent about remembering to take those pills.

Dear Anon,
Thanks for writing. Yes you could be pregnant based on the fact that birth control pills should be taken as directed. However, taking a home pregnancy test is the only way to really know if you could be pregnant. Once you've been late on your period, you can test for pregnancy.

Good Luck!
