Sorry...when you said "those were the last of the inactive pills", I wasn't sure what "those" you were referring to. You did say that you missed pills in the 3rd week previously.
I understand now, and see the dilemna. You could not have prevented this since you had sex on the 9th, and missed pills AFTER you had sex... and how would you have know you were to get sick and not be able to keep down pills.
Do you know if you were able to keep down any of the pills? Even if they were in your system for 30 minutes, your body could have absorbed some of the hormones in this short of time.
If you are positive that the four consecutive pills you took were immediately vomited out, then you would need to count those as officially "missed" pills, and since you were sick, you weren't able to double-up.
The bleeding you experienced was most likely not your regular "period", since you just had spotting. It was most likely your body's reaction to the abrupt absence of synthetic hormones. Nothing harmful, but you are still worried about pregnancy.
Let me re-read your original statement, and I will respond again in a moment...

Hi i just found out i was positive for chlamydia, i took four 250mg of azithromycin on friday morning and my partner took his medicine saturday morning. We had protected sex that night (saturday) but the condom broke so we finished without one. Does this mean that the medicine wont work anymore? Or we will have to get re-treated? Or since it was only a day after taking it will the medicine still work?

As long as you continue to take your medicine, you should be ok. Are you scheduled to follow-up with your doctor to make sure that the infection has cleared up?

Well the medicine they gave me was only a one time dose. They said it really strong and supposed to be in your system for a while i think. It was four tablets of azithromycin equalling 1000mg. Ill definetly check out that site though. Thank you.

Be sure to follow up with your doctor, and especially if you or your boyfriend experience any symptoms. Let us know if you have any questions after reading the "preventing wardrobe malfuctions" article, and the chlamydia information.

Anytime you miss several birth control pills, it increases the risk of possible pregnancy. It is possible that the fluctuation in hormones caused by forgetting to take the pills, then taking three at a time may cause side effects like dizziness. It also could upset her stomach.
January 10, 2011 - 9:52amIt it recommended to use a backup method (condom, spermicide, or withdrawal) the week after forgetting to take pills.

I took a test a week or two after having sex and it came out negative. Can someone HELP ME PLEASE!

Hi miss,
January 10, 2011 - 9:38amHaving your period usually indicates you are not pregnant. Your period can be different in color (dark rusty, red, and pinkish are all normal colors), and can last anywhere from 5-7days. A pregnancy test generally doesn't give a fully-accurate reading until you miss a period. Is there a particular reason why you haven't taken your birth control pills in three months? If you are sexually active, would you consider taking them again, or using a different form of birth control (condom, spermicide, withdrawal)?

Hi,
I've noticed that everyone's been asking what to do when they miss two pills consecutively or in a row. What if I missed two pills but they are not in a row? Here's what happened.
Fri, 24th - missed the pill
Sat, 25th - took two pills, first one, the minute I remembered; second one, at my usual time
Sun - Tues - I took my pills on time
Wed - I FORGOT AGAIN
Thurs 30th I took two pills
Friday 31st - took pill on time
Am I covered under the "you do not need back up" since I made up for the first instance that I missed the pill or am I covered under the "you need back up birth control for the next seven days" since I missed TWO? This is on my second week of the pack.
Thanks.
Carla
