My doctor and I have had more than one discussion on this subject, and I am alarmed to see that still way too many physicians push calcium on their patients, even those with significant cardiac risks. I have never taken calcium, and yet I was able to cure my osteopenia with bioidentical hormone balance (progesterone and testosterone, I have only recently started taking Bi/Est), high levels of Vitamin D, and regular weight workouts (something too many women ignore). Dr. Carr (my hormone physician in CA) allowed me to post his thoughts on the subject on my blog, Holy Hormones. The post is: http://holyhormones.blogspot.com/2011/03/always-go-to-expert.html If anyone would like a list of resources to help you find a doctor/compounding pharmacy in your area, and a list of recommended reading to learn more about bioidentical hormone balance, please just drop me an email at [email protected]. Best wishes to all for hormonal health!
