It is very common to have irregular periods as every woman is different. Also, it is common to try for pregnancy for at least a year before getting pregnant. Since you are over 3 years of trying, you may want to visit a fertility clinic or see your physician. One thing I would mention is to try and take ovulation tests in order to better predict your ovulation cycle. The ovulation is the number one factor in pregnancy. You can purchase them over the counter at your local pharmacy.
Your symptoms are common to either pregnancy or pre-menstrual. The symptoms do mimic each other so this would be hard to pin point. Getting a check up with your physician may be necessary to be sure you are not dealing with any issues. It is better to be safe than sorry.
