Thanks for your question. You can take both pills at your normal time today if you want to, or just throw away the other pill--it's up to you. Since you regularly use a backup method, you should be fine, and your period may only be slightly altered from skipping one. Try and be extra diligent about taking your pills on time. If you find you have difficulty remembering to take them on time or every day, you may want to ask your doctor about a different type of birth control, like condom and spermicide together, or condom and withdrawal. Sounds like you guys are doing a great job of protecting yourselves from unwanted pregnancy (except for that one little misstep). Nice work! Keep it up.
