If your boyfriend ejaculated in you twice without a condom, and you have only been taking the pill for two days...this is not enough time for the pill to work at its highest effectiveness rate (99%). Please tell me your doctor told you that you need to use back-up birth control for the first 7-14 days of taking the pill??

Either way...you do have a high risk for pregnancy when having unprotected intercourse. Since this occurred Thursday (night?), you still have time to take emergency contraception (Plan B), as it needs to be taken within 120 hours after unprotected sex. If this occurred Thursday night, it is now Sunday night...about 72 hours. Can you take Plan B Monday morning, or even tonight if you have access to a 24-hour pharmacy? I'm not sure your age, but you do not need a prescription. You can call the pharmacy ahead of time and make sure they have Plan B, or Plan B One Step, in stock so you can pick it up.

It is unknown when you ovulated, as this changes from month-to-month. The pill works to help prevent ovulation, but it needs to be in your system for at least 7 days (some doctors say 14 days just to be on the safe side). Two days' worth of pills does not count as birth control, unfortunately. If your doctor did not explain this to you, that you need to use back-up (condom), please call them back and talk with them about it ,and that you are really worried about being pregnant. First thing Monday, if you can.

I'm sorry this is not the information you wanted to hear, but I want you to act fast in case you are able to prevent a pregnancy. (It takes 10-14 days to actually become pregnant after intercourse, so the Plan B works before you are pregnant to stop the fertilized egg from implanting). The sooner you use Plan B, the more effective it is.

Please let us know how you are doing.
