However, if you don't have insurance coverage for infertility, I would encourage you to ask your insurer for an exemption to your benefits. I would also encourage you to speak with your (or your partner's) employer's human resource department. Upon request, employers will often "go to bat" for you with the insurer or cover the benefit themselves.
